‘Arise by Aricent’, previously known as Aricent Employability Enhancement Program has been conceptualized towards filling the demand and supply gap, that currently exists in the IT-ITeS sector, as substantiated by various analyses and studies of the labour market.
The Program provides a platform for Engineering students to enhance their employability skills - relevant to the IT-ITeS sector, - through rigorous intervention and training which is provided both online and on-campus. Students and participating colleges for ’Arise by Aricent’ are carefully selected to ensure that the program reaches young marginalized students of tier-2 and tier-3 Engineering colleges of even remote areas, with special focus on women Engineering students. For a wider geographical reach, the program runs in two modes – online and on-campus. Arise by Aricent online is in partnership with IIT Madras and Arise by Aricent’ on-Campus which is running in multifaceted manner is in partnership with NASSCOM Foundation.
The on-campus program, in partnership with NASSCOM Foundation is envisaged to empower Engineering students with the skills required for the modern-day workplace. The advanced on-campus training of 320 hours is based on the Qualification Pack 0501 (Software Developer) developed by the Sector Skills Council NASSCOM (SSC NASSCOM). The curriculum focuses on building technical and behavioral skills of the identified engineering students of tier II and tied III Engineering Colleges with an emphasis on experiential learning. The specific technical skills include projects in C, C++, Java and the behavioral skills include communication, program management and teamwork, business etiquette, problem-solving, customer orientation, interview skills and other soft skills required to enhance their employment opportunities.
After the completion of their training, the students are evaluated via an independent assessment and certified by SSC NASSCOM. This certification serves as proof of the baseline capability of the student, irrespective of the college or educational institution that he/she might be affiliated to.
This on-campus up-skilling program runs across Delhi NCR, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu regions and touches lives of more than 5000 plus youths studying in the identified Engineering colleges. The first batch of students enrolled in 20 colleges across India has been certified and the implementing team met crucial success in two placement drives where a large number of them have been placed in companies such as L&T, Infosys, Amazon, Tech Mahindra, Dell, IBM and Wipro with a comparatively higher salary package. Most of them joined engineering domain which is also a significant impact of the program.
