NASSCOM Foundation’s MyKartavya program is organizing a session titled “Finding Talent, Finding solutions: Hackathon, your new and progressive HR strategy” at the NASSCOM HR summit, Chennai on 23rd and 24th July 2014. The session will focus on how hackathons are evolving as a vital tool cutting across various HR functions.

The HR Summit this year aims to discuss and debate the change that is required in HR practices to respond to the new demand of a globalized business. Finding and retaining the talent is critical, as is responding to the new generation’s requirements. Companies, across the world, have started hosting Hackathons as an avenue to source fresh talent from the industry and also integrating it within their respective Learning and Development (L&D) programs. They are seen to have the potential of enabling the employees to innovate and imagine solutions for real world problems that exist today. Hackathons, therefore, are emerging as a vital tool in engaging employees through strategic volunteering opportunities to do social good.

The panel discussion proposes to introduce to the Indian HR community, the need and relevance of Hackathon within the HR domain and how vital a tool it is in engaging an organization’s human capital.
