Launch of NDLM Centre in Pune in partnership with Zensar Technologies


Venue: Pune, Maharashtra

NASSCOM Foundation in partnership with Zensar Technologies will be launching a new Digital Literacy Centre in Pune under the National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM).


This will be the first of the two NDLM centres which the Foundation plans to launch in partnership with Zensar Technologies, with the other one scheduled for launch in Hyderabad. Together, these two centres will be imparting digital literacy to 3,000+ community members from as many families while also engaging them with ICT based content on Health, Education, Literacy and Livelihood. The programs will have interesting tools to keep participants involved such as interactive lecture sessions, group projects, and motivational sessions. It will work towards creating linkages among community members / youth for skills training. Efforts will be made towards placement of youth undergoing skills training, and reporting on the same.


Specifically for the Zensar centres in Pune and Hyderabad, the NDLM centres would include:

  • Digital Literacy – basic literacy for one person in every household
  • Digital Literacy for skilling – towards employability, for e.g. job oriented English programs / NSDC star programs / Business and entrepreneurship programs / Animation, DTP and design software, etc. In case any of these programs need additional investment, the same would be mutually discussed and decided upon.
  • Building ‘digital communities’ - entire community to be wifi enabled; access on mobile
  • Synergy with overall community development goals
    • Awareness creation on health and social issues such as malnutrition, early child
    • Community centre for recreation (movies) and discussions oriented towards
  • Common service centre: information services and digital services marriage, alcoholism, etc through documentaries and other audio-visuals solutions health, water, sanitation, jobs


About NDLM and the role of NASSCOM Foundation
NDLM is an ecosystem of digital literacy awareness, education and training programs that will help India take a lead in the global digital economy. It will accelerate the pace of digital literacy and help both rural and urban communities be competitive and technologically empowered. NASSCOM Foundation currently serves as the industry’s Secretariat for the National Digital Literacy Mission.
