Established in Hyderabad, Telangana in 1996, Ashray Akruti runs educational institutions with residential facilities for hearing impaired children. The organization strongly believes in the potential of persons with disabilities and works with a mission to create institutional, non-institutional and community based interventions for the people to help them become independent self-reliant and contributing citizens of the country. Ashray Akruti serves 550 beneficiaries annually. 

In 2010, they started a Multimedia computer animation training center to provide vocational training suitable to the modern day job market, suitable to the abilities of hearing impaired persons for which they availed of the Adobe donation to offer courses in digital multimedia and animation
