According to WHO, “CVD’s or Cardiovascular diseases (Heart, Brain and Vascular Diseases) are the number 1 cause of death globally”. Eighty two percent of these deaths occur in middle & lower income groups because of very expensive treatment. India has the highest number of patients suffering from CVD’s with 67% of the population living in poverty. Therefore, there is an urgent need to make the treatment for CVD’s affordable to the masses. Catheters are a vital tool in any CVD’s treatment however; the process for their cleaning and reuse remains expensive and largely ineffective, which could cause a lot of danger.
In an effort to reduce the cost of treatment for CVD’s, Incredible Devices has developed a Catheter Reprocessing System (CRS). The CSR is a machine that automates the effective cleaning and sterilization of catheters. The machine 24 different cycles for cleaning catheters from washing with RO water through to chemical drying. The CRS both monitors and standardizes the process, therefore reducing the health and safety risks along with costs for all patients using catheters.
The innovation will reduce the treatment costs of CVD’s by 55% making treatment affordable for patients across the country. The organisation, though newly registered aims to reach over 9,000 new hospitals per annum.
