Over the past few years, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has taken centre-stage in the Indian development dialogue. In the five years of the mandated CSR era, India Inc. has made significant progress – from adoption to application of the law, and now to alignment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). CSR interventions have attempted to tackle many development needs, brought about rigor in monitoring mechanisms and promoted adoption of new technology, strategy and global standards in implementing development programs.

The year 2019 provides an interesting opportunity – on one hand to reflect on the work done so far, measure outcomes and refine strategies, and on the other to examine the impact of new technologies in development and take on emerging need areas such as disaster relief, safety of children and food security – a move towards corporate social responsiveness. As representatives of the country’s largest IT consortium, NASSCOM Foundation takes the lead in bringing together all stakeholders in the CSR and Tech4Good space for discussions on emerging themes in development, efficient practices and scalable models for sustained impact.
